At One Niner Expeditions, we understand that plans can change. However, due to the complexity of arranging travel in Africa and our commitment to providing exceptional service, we’ve established the following cancellation policy to protect both our guests and the local service providers we partner with.

All cancellations must be made in writing via email. The effective date of cancellation is when we receive your written notice.

Cancellation Fees:

More than 90 days before departure:

• 50% of total trip cost (non-refundable deposit) is forfeited
• No further payment is due

61–90 days before departure:

• 75% of total trip cost is forfeited

30–60 days before departure:

• 100% of total trip cost is forfeited (no refund)

Less than 30 days before departure:

• 100% of total trip cost is forfeited (no refund)

Important Notes:

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. This deposit secures your internal flights, accommodations, and other time-sensitive logistics, many of which are non-refundable to us.
• In some cases, a higher deposit may be required depending on supplier terms (e.g., high-end lodges, seasonal rates).
• Full payment is required at the time of booking for any trips confirmed within 90 days of departure.
• Flight tickets (regional and domestic within Africa) are non-refundable once issued, in accordance with airline policy.
• Refunds for hotels, activities, and third-party providers depend on each supplier’s cancellation policy. We will always do our best to recover any possible costs, but we cannot guarantee refunds beyond what is recoverable from our partners.
• Some services, including custom-quoted activities, private charters, special lodge bookings, or limited-availability permits, may carry a 100% cancellation fee once confirmed, regardless of when the overall trip is canceled.

Travel Insurance Requirement:

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes:

• Trip cancellation and interruption
• Medical and emergency evacuation coverage
• Coverage for lost or delayed baggage

This protects your investment and provides peace of mind in case of illness, injury, or other unexpected changes.
